Still Lifes

Since sitting at art classes in Secondary School, I’ve understood Still-life to be an exercise in observation. Arrangements of objects, however simple, offer opportunities to judge scale and space, rhythm and line. They reveal relation-ships between colours, tones and textures. And perhaps the most important study of all is the subtle change of light as it moves across objects.

With each Still-life one learns a little more about the craft of painting.
