A Venetian Moon

Magritte’s painting, Carte Blanche, shows a lady on horseback, riding through a forest. The conceit is that she’s visible through the trunks, but not in the spaces between them. In my variation, the reclining lady is borrowed from Titian. (Rueful admission: blinds are a lot more tedious to paint than trees.)

Oil on Canvas. 60cm x 80cm.
